Accounts Receivable Clerk

The Opportunity:

Davis Martindale is one of the most recognizable accounting firms in Southwestern Ontario. For over 55 years, we have proudly served and fulfilled the needs of our clients.

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Clerk who excels in communication, customer service, problem-solving and organizational skills. The ideal candidate is adaptable, capable of seeing tasks through to completion and eager to learn.

Responsibilities:

  • Client Assistance: Handling inbound client calls, ensuring client needs and concerns are addressed in a timely manner; investigating client matters and seeking feedback from the client’s service team when appropriate.
  • Payment processing and recording: Processing credit card payments; recording and processing incoming payments in our operating system; reconciliation to banking activity; preparing of our daily deposit, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all deposits and documentation.
  • Transaction posting: Processing accounts receivable adjustments, including invoice reversals, credits and refunds; posting in our operating system and ensuring documentation is complete; posting certain accounts receivable transactions (invoices, payments and adjustments) in our accounting software.
  • Monitoring & reconciling accounts receivable records: Monitoring for unposted transactions; reconciliation to verify all transactions have been recorded in our operating system and accounting software.
  • Ad-hoc Tasks: Delivering deposits to the bank; performing and documenting registered mail runs to Canada Post; operating system record updates.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years working in a professional office environment performing accounts receivable duties
  • Post-secondary diploma/certification in accounting considered an asset
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, exhibiting patience and empathy while resolving inquiries in a professional and friendly manner
  • Detail-oriented
  • Problem-solving skills, demonstrating persistence and resourcefulness in performing a task to completion and resolving conflict
  • Strong organizational skills: exceptional ability to prioritize a steady volume of tasks, manage schedules efficiently while maintaining accurate and complete records.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Adaptable and enthusiastic about continuous learning and improvements
